The Director of Programming, Outreach, and Communication is a full-time position. This person will be responsible for the various Jewish religious, cultural, recreational, and social programs including special Shabbat observances, holiday celebrations, special educational events, and social and fundraising efforts.

Programming/Events
• Work with Temple clergy & senior staff, leadership, and committee chairs to schedule events, secure locations, and coordinate between various internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage purchasing of goods/food for events,

• At the event: Register attendees, overseas / take pictures/videos and prepare social media content before & after the event. Follow up with attendees after the event for engagement

Outreach
• Help recruit and involve Temple volunteers and oversee volunteer responsibilities (Shabbat greeters, ushers, etc.)
• Create relationships & partnerships with other Jewish and non-Jewish organizations
• In collaboration with clergy/senior staff create i) one monthly program tailored to the Israeli community ii) one monthly program tailored to the Latin American community
• Liaise with Social Action Team, partner organizations, and internal staff to create a calendar of volunteer events for the year. Work with the Director of Lifelong Learning, religious school, and aftercare on Mitzvah Day strategy and implementation

Communication
• Coordinate the preparation of materials to promote and market events to the Temple membership, and, when applicable, the larger community
• Spearhead all communication post events on social media, website, print, pictures, and thank you emails for attending
• Create tracking documentation for attendance at events and share reports with other senior staff members and the Board of Directors quarterly
• Liaise with senior staff and the website development company to update the website monthly with the calendar of events. Create sign-up functionality, so members can enroll in events online directly.
• Create direct relationships with lay leaders/congregation to obtain feedback on the type of events members want – education topics, etc.

Requirements:
• Familiarity with and understanding of Jewish holidays, customs, and practices
• Minimum of two years of experience organizing and running events preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Experience working in and leading small teams
• Skilled at using computer technology, software, and social media
• Able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously in a calm and professional manner
• Able to work weekends/evenings as required. Be present on a regular basis at Friday night services and at all significant congregational events and programs.
• Attendance at staff meetings and be available to meet with other senior staff/volunteers during office hours.
• Experience in social media: Instagram, Facebook

Preferred, but not required
• Experience working in a non-profit and/or member-based organization such as a house of worship
• Bilingual (English, Spanish, and/or Hebrew)
